Discover the rewarding experience of creating your own handcrafted jewellery in a welcoming and supportive workshop. Our Thursday Evening Jewellery Making Classes are designed for beginners, hobby makers, and anyone looking to refine their skills through hands-on tuition, traditional techniques, and expert guidance from experienced goldsmiths.
This course includes:
- Five weekly Thursday evening classes
- 2.5-hour sessions starting at 6:30pm
- Small class sizes with a maximum of six students
- Professional jewellery benches and specialist tools
- Silver, copper, and selected materials for course projects
- Expert tuition from experienced jewellers
- Handmade jewellery to take home at the end of your projects
If you’d like to create additional pieces or work with more precious metals, extra silver and other materials are available to purchase.
What You'll Learn During the Course
This five-week jewellery making course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some previous experience. Every lesson combines expert demonstrations with hands-on practice, helping you develop practical skills and confidence at your own pace.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn techniques including:
- Sawing and shaping metal
- Filing and refining jewellery
- Rolling precious metals
- Soldering techniques
- Polishing and finishing
- Basic stone setting
- Professional bench skills
- Creating finished jewellery pieces
Students who already have some jewellery-making experience can also explore more advanced techniques with personalised guidance.
Requirements
- Participants must be 18 years or older, or 16 years and over when accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above.
- All tools, benches, equipment, and course materials are provided, so no prior equipment is required.
