About This Course
Discover the art of traditional jewellery making in a friendly, professional workshop where creativity and craftsmanship come together. Everything you need is provided throughout the course, allowing you to focus entirely on learning and creating.
This course includes:
- Five weekly Tuesday evening classes
- 2.5-hour sessions starting at 6:30pm
- Small class sizes with a maximum of six students
- Professional jewellery benches and tools
- Silver, copper, and selected materials for course projects
- Expert tuition from experienced jewellers
- Finished jewellery pieces to take home
Additional silver and specialist materials are available to purchase should you wish to expand your projects.
What You'll Learn During the Course
Designed for beginners and those with some previous experience, this five-week course introduces the core techniques used in professional jewellery making. Each session combines practical demonstrations with guided hands-on learning, allowing you to develop confidence while working at your own pace.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn techniques including:
- Sawing and shaping metal
- Filing and finishing
- Rolling metal
- Soldering techniques
- Polishing jewellery
- Basic stone setting
- Professional bench skills
- Finishing handcrafted jewellery
Students with previous jewellery-making experience can also explore more advanced techniques with guidance from the tutor.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older, or 16 years and over when accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above.
- No previous jewellery-making experience is required—beginners and those with existing skills are welcome.
- Bring your enthusiasm to learn; all tools, equipment, and course materials are provided.
